Glitter Halloween Houses
Here's where the hocus pocus happens. The resident witch flies high above the crooked roofline of this gothic mansion. Sure to make your skin crawl, in a good way. Flashy orange glitter and cartoonish angles keeps these stately manor homes from being taken too seriously. A giant bat circles above the chimney, ready to turn into a vampire any moment. Bottle brush accents and glitter adorn these homes. Made of heavy card stock. This would make a nice addition to any collection.
I know I have not posted much, but I found something worth sharing. A haunt shop.....full 0f ghoulish goodies, like thisOld apothecary bottle, 3 3/4" tall with real belly hair of black Persian cats, eye irritant! Bottle has ground glass stopper and custom label.

On my arms I sprayed the Mehron Barrier Spray™. I let it dry, then applied the gray mehron creme. Same as I did my face in the last photo. Lasted all night, and I needed makeup remover to take it off. Took more time to remove, than to apply. The bracelet is a family heirloom. It belonged to my great grandmother. It is a neat piece to have. The silver is tarnished and over the gray makeup it creates a death like skin tone. It helped with the Vampiress look.
This year, Halloween 2009, I have been busy teaching at a new school and spent little time on Gaston Ghoulish Goodies.
Although, I was invited to the Evil Dr. Goodwin's Halloween Party. I did spend time finding a wig and mixing white and black creme makeup by Mehron. I wanted Gray, and they were out. Mixed white with a small amount of black to create this eerie look. I did spray my skin with Mehron Barrier Spray before I applied the gray creme makeup...so it would not sweat away. Worked great. Here is the info. on the product. I even made my hands and arms gray too.

He looks possessed! I fear he will break out of the stocks shortly. He was dressed as Lurch, but acted more like the Werewolf in London.
This spider back chair is one in a set of four. As an experiment I decided to silver leaf it. My goal was to achieve a champagne guild. I could not quite achieve the look I was hoping for, so I left it silver. A tube of the wax silver leaf is less than ten dollars. I could probably do one more chair with the small tube of silver leaf. My husband came home with this wonderfully over sized witch hat. I wore it for the party.
At the edge of the sidewalk in front of our house, we placed a homemade sign and fence. The pickets were left over from a large wind storm that blew down our real fence. I saved the pieced and my son hammered them together in a pattern I laid out on the ground for him. I think he did a good job. The gray color is watered down paint that my five year old brushed on each picket. The beware sign in the foreground is the original color of the pickets.
This is a bottle of wine that I covered with a label that I modified. The original label I found was on the Love manor website. You can download many different labels from the Love Manor website. I changed mine in Photoshop to read Werewolf Urine. It received many second looks. A few people asked to take their photo with the bottle. I went online to find information about the werewolf legend and learned that werewolf urine is really purple. Who Knew?
Our buffet is now the Potions Cabinet. The small birds nest is real. Birds made the nest and left. I waited a full season before taking it. The bird nest to the left is artificial. In the foreground is a mortar and pestle. I have collected the dried flowers and seed pods over time. It gives an overall creepy look to the dining room.
